Summarized Talks

Here we will talk about some of our favorite lectures and workshops, as well as a brief description of what was talked about in them. Enjoy!

TALLER
RHYME, SOUND AND MEMORY

Ponente: Angela Llanas, Macmillan Education

This whorkshop was about a very singular and common topic: Why is important to teach kids using rhymes and sound and how this improve their memory. It's easier for them to learn when the words are similar, especially when is accompanied by fun sounds, rhytm and a lot of mimic. It was a very interactive workshop, Angela Llanas gave us many good examples asking for our participation on them!

PONENCIA
Students' Self Assessment and its impact on the development of their use of English

Ponentes: Erica Analí Salmón, Luisa Fernanda Félix Arellano, Jesús Fernando Guerrero Rodriguez.

This talk was really particular, since it was the results of an investigation undertook in our school, Escuela de Lenguas UJED. Its main purpose was to get to know the current level of the students, if the requirements were being met by the time they were graduating, and what was the difference, if it existed, between the level they thought and felt they had with the actual results shown by the investigation.

TALLER
Diversidad e identidad de género dentro del aula, un vistazo a la diversidad sexual dentro del aula en una sociedad heteronormada.

Ponente: Kevin David Marín Quiñonez.

This workshop was about gender identity and diversity present on a classroom. Kevin, a current student in our school. talked us about how we all need to respect each others preferences, as well as other aspects such as nationality, color, socioeconomic status, religion, etc, and how we all need to work for an inclusion of every member in the classroom, all this with the help of respect and tolerance.

PONENCIA
Are there real "problematic" students?

Ponente: Ana Gabriela Caballero Madrigal

This lecture was about a very interesting topic inside the classroom. As the title say, are there real problematic students? Ana Gabriela talks to us about why we as teachers perceive this kind of students; she explained each one of the personalities that we see as "problematic" and how can we deal with them to avoid the wrong idea that the teachers have about this.
